Of Earth & Craft : A Bengaluru Residence

Villa Interiors | Bengaluru

This home was designed around a single conviction, that a house should feel like it has always been there. Spread across multiple levels, the residence weaves together warm plaster, solid wood joinery, natural stone, and hand-selected materials into a living environment that is quiet, grounded, and deeply personal.

The living room anchors the home emotionally, organized around a hand-carved ancestral pooja mandir that the family brought into the design from the very beginning. Arched display joinery, rattan pendant lights, and a travertine coffee table build an atmosphere of curated calm around it, contemporary in its restraint, Indian in its soul.

The kitchen is the home's most expressive room, a bold organic island with a curved solid wood base and black stone countertop sits beneath a dramatic rope chandelier, creating a space that is as sculptural as it is functional. Full-height matte cabinetry, warm under-cabinet lighting, and a marble-toned backsplash complete a kitchen that balances utility with character.

The bedrooms carry the home's material language with consistency, wood-textured floor tiles, textured lime plaster walls, black matt ceiling fans, and warm cove lighting create rooms that feel restful from the moment you enter. Full-height wardrobes in muted greige with brass-toned pulls, integrated dressing ledges, lit shelving niches, and oval mirrors reflect a attention to the rituals of everyday living. Each bedroom opens into a well-considered bathroom with clean, minimal detailing.

Throughout the home, no surface was left unthought. Every material choice, every joinery profile, and every light fitting was selected to contribute to a whole that feels cohesive, warm, and lasting.
